Low Temperature Lubricants
Oils viscosity and grease stiffness become particularly relevant at sub-zero operating temperatures.
Too viscous, and components will drag, or skid resulting in premature wear, or even seizure in extreme cases. Selecting high VI base oils, with low pour points will allow effective lubrication with some PFPE grades operating successfully below -70°C.
